Chairman signs off with a goal
Rich 'Sipper' Coombes has again announced his retirement from football with Yatton and scored a consolation goal against Combe St Nicholas. Yatton were two down at half time after a rash challenge from Moore gave the visitors a penalty, followed by the absence of marking at a free kick allowing them to double their lead.
Mike Lee scored within seconds of the restart to pull one back for Yatton but Combe soon had a two goal cushion once more. Sipper's final moment of glory came from the penalty spot when a Combe defender started pushing in the box, but while Yatton pressed for an equaliser they were sloppy at another set piece and found themselves two behind once more. The final whistle may have brought to an end the playing career of the YAFC stalwart, but we'll wait until August to see...
